Dam Design Engineer-Project Manager.

Renardet is seeking to employ a Dam Design Engineer-Project Manager. The requirements of the position are as follows:

Location: Renardet Head Office in Muscat Sultanate of Oman.

Job Summary: Renardet has been recently awarded the design of several dams in Oman which will be implemented in the next 3 years. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Dam Design Engineer and Project Manager to join our team. As a Dam Design Engineer, you will be basically responsible for Design and analysis of Dams and their Foundations. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to provide technically and financially competent solutions for projects at reconnaissance, preliminary, and detailed design stages. Moreover, you will provide technical support to under-construction projects. As a Project Manager, you will follow up the daily tasks of the design projects, facilitate the project activities and communications, and prepare Project Management documentation, in accordance with the plans, guidelines and instructions provided by a Project Director.

Qualification: Master's degree in Civil Engineering preferably Geotechnical Engineering.

Language: Good knowledge of spoken and written English essential.

Skills: The ideal candidate must have a deep knowledge and understanding of Dams (especially Embankment Dams) and their Foundations, and is expected to be well familiar with relevant international design practices and standards. Knowledge and hands-on experience in essential analyses of dams and foundations e.g., stability, stress, seepage analyses using modern software and tools is mandatory. Experience and knowledge in the following fields would be considered as advantage:

• Design of foundation treatments e.g., foundation water tightening and foundation stabilization;
• Design of instrumentation systems for dams and foundations;
• Project management skills including planning, monitoring and reporting.

Overall Experience: The candidates should have at least 12 years of experience in the design of dams and foundations as explained above.
