It will pass between the existing Batinah Highway and the proposed Batinah Expressway. The project road is classified as a major secondary road to serve the inland development of Sohar City and hence improves the traffic distribution and mobility in this region. The project road pasess through four major districts as defined by the master plan called Airport district, Sohar City Centre, Royal district and Southern Sohar. 98% of proposed residential areas will be allocated within these four districts. The project includes an interchange. Two of the at-grade roundabouts are designed to be upgraded to flyovers at a later stage.
