  • Narrative Description of the Project:

    Design of access roads on behalf of the contractor for this design/build project. Approximately 3 km of road to be designed, including design of special weir-bridge on the road where sea water crosses the road and mixes with the sweet water from Wadi A'Shab & Wadi Tiwi. Hydrology study & Structural study was also a part of the design of the roads in this contract. The main objective of which is to obtain an approval from the concerned Ministry including but not limited to Ministry of Housing & Ministry of Communications. Special weir-bridge designed to withstand the wave attack and the max. wadi flow was used for approximately 350 meters of the road in Wadi A'Shab & Wadi Tiwi. The weir also considered to allow excess water from the wadi to flow towards the sea through a special pipe and controlled by a flap valve.

    4) Study alternative alignment in the hilly area through aerial photographs and mapping
