  • Narrative Description of the Project:

    Sohar Municipality has approved Renardet as Consultant for the Design and Supervision for Rehabilitation of Al Khad ? Sham Road in Sohar. The road portion to be rehabilitated concerns the section starting in Sham and ending at the entrance of Al Khad village.The road has been designed as ?all weather road? and as a result, at all the wadi crossings adequate drainage structures have been provided. The length of the rehabilitated road is about 7 Km.The rehabilitation involves:- Widening of the road, - Improvement of the existing horizontal alignment along the portion having at present acceptable profile,- Road realignment to allow milder longitudinal slopes. This case applies over the 3 km long portion along which the vertical profile presents gradient as steep as 20%.

    1) Detailed Topographic Survey
    2) Traffic Study
    3) Perform a hydrology study and hydraulic design to determine the drainage structures
    4) Study alternative alignment through aerial photographs and mapping
    5) Design all necessary structures and other elements
    6) Prepare design report, concept design, preliminary and detailed design, Engineers cost estimate and tender documents
    7) Coordination with concerned authorities to obtain their approval on the design
