Rehabilitation works for Service Roads along the Sides of the Batinah Main Road Phase-3 (Sohar to Shinas)

The scope of work comprises the design to upgrade the service roads, to a higher standard in terms of cross-section, horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, pavement rideability, utilities relocation, new layouts for junctions with secondary roads and with Batinah highway and provisions to increase visibility (i.e. lightining, eliminate visual obstructions) etc. with the aim of making real safety improvements and reducing the current high accident rate; the design will meet all the engineering requirements mentioned in the Highway Design Standards. The service roads are running on both sides of Batinah highway for a total lenght of 100 km along a rolling/flat landscape through urbanized areas and rural areas.
1) Detailed Topographic Survey
2) Traffic Study
3) Perform a hydrology study and hydraulic design to determine the drainage structures
4) Study alternative alignment through aerial photographs and mapping
5) Design all necessary structures and other elements
6) Prepare design report, concept design, preliminary and detailed design, Engineers cost estimate and tender documents
7) Coordination with concerned authorities to obtain their approval on the design.
