Design & Repair of Cyclone Damages including some realignments on Wadi Bani Khalid

The scope of work includes design and repairing of cyclone damages including widening of sharp curves on wadi Bani Khalid road with a view to rehabilitate the damaged sections to the required cross-sections and pavement. The project road is located in Sharqiya region, wilayat Bani Khalid. The total length of existing road is 22.40 km approximately. The rectification / improvement works between km 17+000 to km 22+000 including the followings locations: Location No. 1 (From km 17+300 to 17+500), Location No. 2 (From km 18+400 to km 18+600) and Location No. 3 (From 19+950 to 20+150). The existing side slopes which have loose strata shall be trimmed and protected / strengthened by providing shotcrete with reinforcement and dowel bars, at some locations where the existing side slope is loose and unstable buttered wall shall be constructed as per the site condition after construction of lined intercepting ditch at the top of side slope. Reconstruction of damaged Box culvert as per Highway Design Standards. The cross section of project road consists of 7.0m wide traveled way with 1.0m wide paved shoulders on both sides. The pavement component of the road structure will as following: Bituminous Base Course (Class B) 50mm Granular Sub Base Course (Class B) 200mm
The staff duties are to check all the activites at site and the documents as well as the shope drawings which will be submitted by the
contractor. These works can summarize as per the following:
1) Survey works:
The land surveyor shall check the setting out of the horizonal alignment details due to widening of curves.
Checking the final side slope values as required after trimming and cutting of the side slope before providing the shotcrete..
Checking the final levels of the subbase and pavement.
Quantity surveyor shall check the cross sections, the interim payment certificates, preparing the variation orders checking the
final account and as built drawings after the coordination with the Resident Engineer.
2) Material works:
The material Engineer shall check and review the design mix for concrete and the asphalt after preparing trail mix.
Checking the compaction test for subbase material and the bituminous base course.
for concrete work at site checking the slump test, concrete temperature and attending during the crushing of concrete cubes.
3) Civil works
The Civil Engineer along with the site Inspector shall check the reinforcement steel of the concrete structures and shotcrete, as well as
before checking the survey works or material works they will ensure everything as per the standard.
Civil Engineer shall check the shope drawings which have been submitted by the contractor.
