Project Location:
The Dhofar Governorate is located in the southern part of the country. It lies on the western border of Oman between Oman and Yemen. It is a highly mountainous area draining toward the cities placed along the coast. Salalah is the major city of the Governorate and is located at 135km from the main area of study, Sadh village.
The main component of the project:
- Design and Construction of a diversion dam within the Wadi Sadh to reduce the flood alleviation at Sadh Village;
- Design and Construction of the diversion channel to the neighbouring wadi, Jeeshjesh;
- Design and Construction of a bridge crossing wadi Jeeshjesh, connecting the main road to the village while taking in due consideration the increase in catchment area.
According to the TOR, the Scope of Work is detailed as follows:
