Project Location:
The project is located in Mazari Village within Qurayyat Wilayat in Muscat Governorate which is about 120 km from the Muscat, the Capital of Oman.
The main component of the project:
The Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) is planning to execute a new water distribution network for Mazari Village, to be fed from the proposed water distribution reservoir to be constructed by others under the Wadi Dayqah Water Supply Scheme (Surface Water Treatment Plant) which is at tendering stage for construction and it is planned to be completed by beginning of 2018.
The existing houses of Mazari Village is currently supplied by ground water via a private network with house connections and by tankers also. PAEW intends to construct a new distribution network and replace all existing water house connections of the private network with a new ones from the new distribution network to be supplied with potable water in accordance with PAEW Standards and Guidelines and the International Standards. A preliminary study for the proposed network was carried out in 2011 and concluded that the total estimated required length of the new pipelines and house connections is about 21 kms with mainly small diameters up to 160mm of HDPE pipes.
