Scope of the project is the upgrading of the section, about 40 km long, of the existing road that from Sohar leads to Yanqul. The road starts from the interchange of the planned Batinah Expressway and ends at Saih al Bareer village. The road runs through flat and rolling terrain and consists of a single two lane carriageway; it includes four bridges and several single to multicell drainage structures. Most of the road has been realigned because of the planned nearby Saih al Makaram Royal Camp. The total length of the road is about 33 km.
